A1 Escolar (11-17 años)

Nivel A1 (for young learners ages 11 - 17)


DELE A1 for young learners accredits the linguistic competence needed to understand and utilize frequently used daily expressions and simple sentences, in order to satisfy immediate needs.

What are the advantages of having the DELE A1 for schools?

  • It is an official certificate which corresponds with the levels from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • It certifies and evaluates the knowledge of the student from his/her first contact with the language.
  • It is valid for life.
  • It is a motivation for students between the ages of 11 and 17 years, because it is somewhat of a challenge and recognition of his/her learning in the initial stages.
Examination
The examination consists of 4 parts


Group 1
  • Reading comprehension (45 mins)
  • Listening comprehension (20 mins)
Group 2
  • Written expression and interaction (25 mins)
  • Oral expression and interaction (10 mins + 10 mins preparation)


The final grade is either PASS (apto) or FAIL (no apto). To obtain a diploma you must get a minimum of 60 points out of 100 in the examination, provided that you get at least 30 points out of 50 in each group of tests.

DELE: What is it? FAQs

The Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are official qualifications certifying one's level of competence in the Spanish language at an international level. Anyone with a certain level in the language can take one of the levels and obtain a certification if he/she passes the exam. This certification is issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain . Is DELE a course? No, it is only an examination that someone, with a certain level of Spanish, does in order to obtain a certification.
